Gluckstadt Mayor Honors Central Mississippi Realtors® with 100th Anniversary Proclamation
Ridgeland, Miss. (June 26, 2024) – On Tuesday, Walter C. Morrison IV, Mayor of Gluckstadt, Mississippi, honored Central Mississippi Realtors® (CMR) for the vital role they have played in protecting a marketplace for consumers to buy, own and sell real estate in Central Mississippi since their founding in 1924.
“With any growing community, the importance of homeownership cannot be understated. I believe that those who choose to live and work in the City of Gluckstadt will recognize and appreciate the value of Central Mississippi Realtors®,” said Mayor Morrison. “I personally want to thank CMR for all that it does for our growing city.”
For over 100 years, CMR has been the resilient and driving force behind the real estate industry in Central Mississippi by promoting ethical and professional real estate practices, championing homeownership and defending private property rights for all.

PROCLAMATION CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI REALTORS®
WHEREAS, Central Mississippi REALTORS® (CMR) was founded in 1924 and has been a vital part of the Central Mississippi community for 100 years, serving as the voice for real estate and promoting ethical and professional real estate practices; and
WHEREAS, CMR represents over 2,100 REALTOR® members across 10 counties, including Hinds, Madison, Rankin, Yazoo, Holmes, Attala, Leake, Scott, Copiah, and Simpson, and has consistently upheld the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and community engagement; and
WHEREAS, CMR has significantly contributed to the regional economy by supporting homeownership, private property rights, and real estate development, thus fostering economic growth and stability in Central Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, over the past century, CMR has been dedicated to educating and empowering its members, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve the community effectively and ethically; and
WHEREAS, CMR has continuously engaged in community service projects, demonstrating its commitment to giving back to the community and supporting those in need; and
WHEREAS, CMR’s celebration of its 100th anniversary is not only a reflection of its rich history and achievements but also a reaffirmation of its ongoing commitment to excellence, innovation, and community service for the future; and
WHEREAS, the CMR’s centennial celebrations will include various events and initiatives, such as an Anniversary Gala, educational workshops and community engagement projects, aimed at honoring the past and inspiring future growth and collaboration within the real estate community; and
NOW, THEREFORE, we, the City of Gluckstadt, do hereby recognize and celebrate the 100th anniversary of Central Mississippi REALTORS® and commend its century-long dedication to promoting, defending, and strengthening homeownership, private property rights, and real estate professionalism in Central Mississippi.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we extend our heartfelt congratulations to CMR, its members and its leadership, and encourage all citizens to join us in recognizing the significant impact CMR has had on our community, our economy, and our lives.
