A broker’s office policy saved him this week from potential harm. An out-of-state "buyer," who was unknown to the agent, was offended when an agent would not pick him up. He had requested the agent pick him up a local hotel so that the agent could show him a property. The agent refused to pick him up stating the office policy, for safety reasons, was to go in separate cars until the two got to know each other. The "buyer" got offended and left.
The agent and broker then googled the buyer and found the buyer had criminal records.
It is ok to lose one who chooses not to follow a broker’s policy that keeps agents safe. Ensure you have office policies that you follow consistently for all clients.
