What happens if I’m found guilty of violating the Code of Ethics?

If after a due process hearing, it is determined that a violation occurred the following sanctions are authorized:

  1. An automatic $500 administrative fee will be charged to a Respondent found in violation
  2. Plus, one or more of the following authorized sanctions:
    1. A letter of reprimand with a copy kept in the membership file
    2. A letter of warning with a copy kept in the membership file
    3. Attendance at an ethics course or other education course determined by the hearing panel
    4. A fine not to exceed $15,000
    5. Suspension of membership for not less than 30 days or more than 1 year
    6. Expulsion from membership for not more than 3 years
    7. Suspension or termination of MLS rights for not less than 30 days and no more than 3 years
