There is a myriad of things you must do as real estate professionals to keep your clients out of harm’s way. One is to caution them against exposing their names and families to the wilds of the Internet through marketing photos. Photos uploaded to MLS that then are fed to dozens of pubic websites should not include the family name on visible plagues and family photos. Before taking marketing photos, caution your sellers to remove such personal items. Marketing photos that contain personal names and images can help criminals learn who lives at a particular address. Do not help criminals. And on another note, if the listing is yours and your family name displays on a cute, little plaque in a picture, you might violate MLS rules.
