And the listing agent’s response in writing should be “I’ll be happy to.  On  ____ date at _____time your offer was presented to the seller/landlord  and on  ______ at _____ seller/landlord chose to _______.”  If there is ever a complaint filed for alleged violation of Article 1, as demonstrated in SOP 1-7, the written affirmation, if any, would most likely be evidence so should certainly be truthful in the event the seller/landlord becomes a witness.

New Standard of Practice in the Code of Ethics this year: SOP 1-7:

When acting as listing brokers, REALTORS shall continue to submit offers and counter-offers until closing unless the seller has waived this obligation in writing. Upon the written request of a cooperating broker who submits an offer to the listing broker, the listing broker shall provide a written affirmation to the cooperating broker that the offer was submitted to the seller OR a written notice that the seller has waived the obligation to have the offer presented.
