Join us for October’s Power Hour with special guest Mayor John Horhn, City of Jackson. This is an opportunity to hear directly from Mayor Horhn as he shares his vision for Jackson’s future, insights from his decades of public service, and updates on the priorities shaping the Capital City today.

About Mayor John Horhn

Mayor John Horhn brings more than 30 years of experience in public service and community leadership. Before being elected as Jackson’s 54th Mayor earlier this year with 67% of the vote, he served over three decades in the Mississippi Senate, where he chaired the Senate Economic Development Committee and championed projects that brought more than $1 billion in investments to the city.

He was the original author of the legislation that led to the creation of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, the only state-supported civil rights museum in the nation—a crowning achievement of his legislative career. Outside of government, Mayor Horhn has worked as a business development consultant and is also an accomplished actor and storyteller, with credits in film and television.

Now as Mayor, he is committed to restoring trust and accountability, ensuring delivery of essential services, and creating a bold new vision for Jackson’s future.

The Lily Pad is so much more than a café—it’s a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating meaningful employment opportunities for young adults with special needs.
