Event Description

Fabian Nelson is a respected leader and dedicated public servant from Mississippi with a robust academic background. He holds degrees from Harvard Kennedy School, American Public University, Jackson State University, and Holmes Community College, including an MBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurship, a Bachelor of Science in Biology, an Associate of Arts in Business Administration, and a certificate in State and Local Government.

In 2009, Fabian founded Mississippi United Realty and currently serves as Managing Broker. His political career commenced in 2023, when he was elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives, representing District 66, which encompasses South Jackson, Byram, Raymond, and Utica. He achieved a historic electoral victory, securing one of the highest margins for a non-incumbent Democrat in the state.

As a state legislator, Fabian serves on the Housing, Technology, Military Affairs, and Judiciary B Committees. During his inaugural legislative session, he authored and co-authored over 50 bills, including legislation supporting Mississippi’s largest-ever capital investment of $10 billion from Amazon. He is an advocate for victims of domestic violence and harm reduction initiatives, having authored HB 1137 to expand access to Narcan, which received bipartisan support and passed unanimously.

Beyond his duties in public office, Fabian is passionate about community service and personal development. He enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, and spending quality time with his children, consistently dedicated to making a positive impact in his community.
